I have searched high and low and tried many products in my quest to switch out foods and items that do not optimize my health. I want to share with you the results of my years of testing so hopefully you can easily find something that works for you and optimize your health!
Honeyville Grain – best place to purchase almond flour in bulk. Go in with some friends and family and order 25 – 50 lbs for $4-5 a lb. Purchase the blanched almond flour. Sign up for their email list and receive periodic 10 – 15% off coupons.
Terra chips – Root vegetable chips by Terra are our hands down favorite. Purchase the Original flavor to ensure you don’t get any added sugars.
Almond milk – Silk as well as Almond Breeze makes a vanilla unsweetened almond milk you can purchase in the grocery store. It makes a perfect substitution for milk in recipes as well as drinking for those that are lactose intolerant or allergic to milk.
SunSpire chocolate chips – grain sweetened chocolate chips that does not use refined sugar but instead an all natural sweetener made from malted barley and corn. I use these to bake as well as for a little treat – they are my favorite!
So Delicious Ice Cream – dairy free, sugar free ice cream made with coconut milk and agave that is really good and can be found in most grocery store freezers.
Chebe – gluten free, sugar free bread mixes, pizza crusts and breadsticks. Literally an answer to prayer after years of not eating pizza and finding a gluten free, sugar free pizza that was tasty, light and delicious!
Oogave – we don’t drink much else besides ice tea and water, but occasionally we have a hankering for a soda pop. This is our “go to”. It is pop sweetened with agave instead of sugar or sugar replacements. Our favorite flavors are grapefruit and ginger ale because we like the ones that don’t taste as sweet. You can find Oogave at Whole Foods, Vitamin Cottage, Sprouts and it is making appearances in local grocery stores and some restaurants.
Nikken PiMag Aqua Pour – this is the water filtration system we use. We didn’t know how much of a different it would make, but now when we drink other water we can tell a major difference. Friends that come into our home call this our “magic water”. I would highly recommend this product. It is a larger up front cost but is much cheaper and more healthy than purchasing bottled water. You do have to purchase this system through a Nikken representative. If you are interested I can provide the contact information for our Nikken representative.
Keeki Nail Polish – one of the non-toxic nail polishes I have found. It has many colors, lasts and looks really good on toes and fingers.
Scotch Natural – second non-toxi nail polish with great colors for each season.
Deodorant: My quest for a natural deodorant without aluminum or other toxic chemicals has been a long one and I HATE smelling during the day. I find that rotating deodorants works the best for me. It is about finding what works for you as each of our bodies respond and cause products to smell differently once they hit our skin. I will provide links to all those that are non-toxic and that I like and use.
Origins deodorant – spray deodorant that can be purchased at any major department store at the Origins counter. Works well especially for a spray deodorant.
Bubble and Bee Pit Putty – Many different scents in an all natural deodorant. Two different scents are in my rotation of deodorants. Try a couple of different scents and even a cream!
Burt’s Bees deodorant – I use their deodorant for men. It has a stronger herbal scent but works great in my rotation of deodorants. You can find this at local Kroger grocery stores.
Burt’s Bees – my favorite is the milk and honey body lotion.
Bubble and Bee Body Butter – 100% organic and includes all ingredients you know. I like the unscented but they have many different scents to choose from.
Hair products: Hair products can be extremely toxic and our hair soaks them up and straight into our heads.
Burt’s Bees shampoo – great shampoo that lathers well and doesn’t but toxic chemicals into your head. We love the “More Moisture Baobab Shampoo” – it smells awesome!
Morrocco Method Volumizer Mist – a great product for the hair in a volumizer mist. Doesn’t leave hair heavy but works.
Perfume: normal perfume includes many chemicals that are not good for our bodies to absorb through the skin
Not the Same – each year we go to Steamboat and visit this vendor’s booth. They make my favorite aromatherapy sprays that I use for perfumes. My favorite is the Foot Refresher Aromatherapy Spray which includes peppermint, lavender and tea tree oils – I use it as my daily perfume and love it!
